You can also enjoy a little quiet and serenity in the many parks and gardens around Parma. Among the most famous ones: the Ducale Park, built in the mid-sixteenth century and decorated with fountains and neoclassical structures. The Cittadella Park is also one of the most visited.

The pentagonal rampart with five corner bastions was once surrounded by water and now encompasses a green public area with a playground for kids with merry-go-rounds, sport tracks for jogging, a dog running area, sport facilities and a café.
